LeSLIe rhodes, 75, a retired window cleaner, had just left an eyesight checkup at St Thomas’ Hospital when he was dragged under Masood’s car.

His niece Amanda told the inquest the family were ‘devastated’ and ‘incredibly angry’ about his death. describing her uncle, left, who was from Clapham, as ‘placid, quiet, and kind’, she said: ‘He loved his job and even though he was retired he would still clean windows for friends, family and loyal customers.

‘He would enjoy a cup of tea and chat with his customers, many of whom became friends.’

Miss rhodes said he had a very private life and, despite his years, continued to climb ladders and cycle. He enjoyed following cricket, growing tomatoes and listening to music. His favourite song by the rock group Queen, These Are The days Of Our Lives, was played at his funeral.
