Heroes of the NHS
THE finalists for this year’s Daily Mail Health Heroes awards represent almost every corner of the NHS – a GP, a hospital cleaner, a nurse, a surgeon and a volunteer on a dementia ward.
But they all have one thing in common – a selfless dedication to caring for the sick.
The ultimate prize went to Sohier Elneil, a gynaecologist at University College London Hospital, working in the vital area of female incontinence.
Presenting the award, the Prime Minister said Miss Elneil’s ‘remarkable empathy and determination’ was transforming lives.
We are proud to honour her – and all the unsung heroes of the NHS, whose everyday devotion is so often taken for granted.
