She’s Maid for St Leger

- MARCUS TOWNEND

THE Andrew Balding-trained filly Maid Up, winner of the March Stakes at Goodwood on her latest run, has been supplemented to the line-up of Saturday’s St Leger at Doncaster at a cost of £50,000. The 16 possible starters for the final Classic of the season include 5-4 favourite Kew Gardens, one of seven possible Aidan O’Brien-trained entries. But Kew Garden’s position as market leader could be under threat if John Gosden’s Lah Ti Dah is aimed at Doncaster. The impressive winner of York’s Galtres Stakes last month also has an option of running in Sunday’s Prix Vermeille at Longchamp.
