Fever, chills – then a rash

Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle ache, chills and exhaustion

Rash develops within days of fever and forms a scab

Incubation period is usually from 6 to 16 days

Person-toperson spread is uncommon, but it may occur through coughing and sneezing

Infection usually starts through contact with infected animals or eating their meat
