CLUBS REJECT £275m OFFER

PREMIERSHIP RUGBY clubs last night unanimously rejected an offer to sell the league to a private equity firm. A £275million offer was on the table for a 51 per cent share from CVC — former owners of Formula One. Premiership chairman Ian Ritchie said: ‘It’s fair to say the majority control is not the preferred option but we would look at a variety of investment opportunities.’
