BARGAIN OF THE WEEK

Taste the Difference Cotes Du Jura Chardonnay, £9, Sainsbury’s A RIPE, peachy white from the tucked away wine-producing region of Jura in eastern France. It’s only an hour further east from Burgundy but the wines don’t get much attention. This one will, especially at this price.

WHITE WINE

Tesco Finest Organic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc 2017, £9, Tesco MORE organic wines are creeping into the supermarke­ts. This one made with Chilean grapes grown in San Antonio Valley is lively and fresh with gooseberry and lime flavours.

Salmon steaks

RED WINE

Feudo del Principe Syrah 2015, Ocado, £15.45 WORTH splashing out on this if you love your reds big, bold and bursting with black fruits. Made from the Syrah grape grown in Sicily, it’s aged for a year in French oak barrels adding a sophistica­ted touch of spice.

Slow roasted lamb

SPARKLING WINE

Mount Bluff Sparkling Brut NV, Marks & Spencer, £13.50 GORGEOUS sparkler from New Zealand, this is a blend of two classic champagne grapes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Rich and toasty with fresh citrus flavours and a touch of creaminess, it’s seriously good value fizz.
