IF BRItAIN does leave the eU in six months’ time, sadly, it will be in name only. the fact is that because of the transitional period, we will be forced to follow all the eU rules without any say in making them.

even after the end of 2020, if theresa May has her way with the chequers plan, we’ll still be saddled.

to claim the imperfections will be ironed out later is just wishful thinking, knowing the intransigence of the eU. If we don’t get the right deal now, we never will.
