Don’t hound dogs
I DON’T agree with Wetherspoons banning dogs (Letters). My two beagles, Archie and Oscar, sat under the table on our visit to a gastro pub this week.
They were well-behaved and much admired, and were even given treats by the staff.
Some pubs allow children to run around screaming and making a nuisance of themselves, to the disgust of customers hoping for a quiet drink. I think Tim Martin is wrong, and I am a shareholder in Wetherspoons.
ANN HADLOW, Wembley, Middlesex. UNCONTROLLABLE brats ‘ expressing themselves’ in restaurants while their unconcerned parents gaze at their mobile phones? Give me a well-behaved dog any time.
PETER STOCKER, Leamington Spa, Warks. LET’S hope Tim Martin bans miserable people. There is nothing more likely to ruin the ambience of dining out as a misery guts on the next table. FRAN CAMBETTIE-DAVIES,
Carshalton, Surrey. WHO would want to eat out at a table where children have smeared their unwashed fingers, licked the sauce bottles and stood on the seats? S. FRANCIS, address supplied.
