MPs attack RBS boss
Royal Bank of Scotland has been accused by MPs of being stuck with the same toxic culture that scarred it after the financial crisis.
Rbs boss ross Mcewan was slammed by the Treasury Select Committee for withholding information from Parliament after he failed to reveal a criminal investigation into allegations that one of its former bankers sought bribes from small businesses. Committee chairman Nicky Morgan said: ‘The committee is concerned by the failure to acknowledge mistakes. It casts doubt on his assurances that Rbs’s culture has changed fundamentally.’ Mcewan denied misleading the committee.
