Ali slams ‘rude’ Aussies

ENGLAND’S Moeen Ali has slammed Australia, calling them ‘rude’ and saying they are the only team he has ever disliked. The all-rounder, who admits he wanted to be dropped during a torrid Ashes series last winter, claimed Australia were an abusive and disrespectful side. He told the Times: ‘They’re the only team I’ve actually disliked. Not because it’s Australia, but because of the way they carry on and (their) disrespect of people and players. I’m someone who generally feels sorry for people when things go wrong but it’s difficult to feel sorry for them.’ Ali’s disdain for the Aussies stretches back to his first meeting with them in an ODI in 2015 in Sydney when England lost by three wickets. He said: ‘They were not just going hard at you, they were almost abusing you. ‘The more I played against them they were just as bad, they were worse actually. Not intimidating, just rude.’
