White men have had it, laments Sir Tim Rice
OSCAR winner Sir Tim Rice, who wrote the lyrics to Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, seems to be feeling sorry for himself.
‘I mean, white men have had it, really, haven’t they?’ he tells an interviewer from Australia. ‘I’m one of the last ones standing.’
And the 73-year- old lyricist, who describes himself as a ‘proud Brexiteer’, condemns those showbusiness figures such as Robert De Niro who have attacked Donald Trump.
‘Most actors and showbiz luvvies seem to think that their views matter,’ Rice booms. ‘Absolute cobblers — they don’t.
‘So every time one of them gets up and says: “F*** President Trump”, it gets 100,000 votes for President Trump. They’re morons.’
