Nice to see her… to see her, nice

DIDN’T she do well! But then this is familiar territory for Sir Bruce Forsyth’s widow Wilnelia.

More than 40 years after she was crowned Miss World, the former model and actress was back in the limelight with a starring role at London Fashion Week.

From beauty queen to fashion queen, Lady Wilnelia shone on the catwalk – just over a year after the death of veteran TV entertainer Sir Bruce. The 60-year-old appeared on the runway for fashion brand JD Williams on Thursday.

In one glamorous outfit, she shimmered in a plunging sequinned gown, while another look featured a silk orange floral-patterned trousers and blazer.

The Puerto Rican-born former model teamed the look with heels, gold hoop earrings and a diamond necklace. Lady Wilnelia, Sir Bruce’s third wife, was married to the star from 1983 until his death in August last year aged 89.

They met when she was a fellow judge at the 1980 Miss World contest and had one child together, Jonathan Forsyth-Johnson, 30. The Strictly Come Dancing host left her £11.5million following his death.

After she won Miss World in 1975, Lady Wilnelia was signed by New York agency Ford Models and in 1978 a giant poster of her was displayed in Times Square.

She remained the only Puerto Rican to win the beauty title until Stephanie Del Valle in 2016.

Sir Bruce has five daughters from his first two marriages. Debbie, Julie and Laura are from his 20-year marriage to dancer Penny Calvert, and Charlotte and Louisa are from his second marriage to Generation Game hostess Anthea Redfern.
