SLOPPY ERRORS THAT SANK SPURS

1 TOTTENHAM concede a corner after Christian Eriksen miscues a header... and it soon gets worse. James Milner whips in the ball towards Virgil van Dijk who is trying to crowd out Michel Vorm. Under pressure, Spurs’ stand-in keeper can only flap at the ball and parry it upwards.

2 ERIC DIER then compounds his goalkeeper’s error. He fails to get any distance on his clearing header and with Harry Kane ball-watching a few yards away, it drops to Georginio Wijnaldum who is lurking unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box.

3 WIJNALDUM attacks the ball with an angled header. The ball loops over four Spurs players — Kane, Toby Alderweireld, Dier and finally Kieran Trippier on the far post — before dropping under the bar. Vorm scoops the ball clear but it has crossed the line.
