Freeman riding high after magnificent seven points
LUKE FREEMAN believes Queens Park Rangers can start challenging at the right end of the Championship table after their recovery continued at Bolton. The 26-year-old midfielder prodded home QPR’s first goal and made the second for Ebere Eze as Steve McClaren’s side dominated until Josh Magennis’s free-kick prompted a late onslaught. QPR made it seven points from three games after four straight defeats had left them at the foot of the table. Freeman believes Rangers can now start threatening the upper reaches of the Championship after recovering from a dreadful start. ‘I think we can, we have a good squad,’ he said. ‘A few of the lads have been promoted and I have experienced it before, and we’re saying it’s got that kind of buzz about it, that real team spirit. When you get that, things tend to pan out in a positive way.’ The upturn in results has also eased the pressure on QPR manager McClaren. Freeman added: ‘He’s really good, probably one of the best I’ve been involved with. ‘He knows his stuff and the lads would agree. It’s been a tough spell but the results haven’t really shown how it’s been behind closed doors.’
