Egypt deaths: Still no answers
The family of a british couple who died on a Thomas cook holiday in egypt still do not know what caused their death – even after british post mortem examinations.
John cooper, 69, and wife Susan, 63, (right) from burnley, died last month at the Steigenberger aqua Magic Hotel in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada. The egyptian authorities have blamed an e.coli infection but this has been dismissed by the couple’s daughter Kelly Ormerod.
She believes a noxious substance may be responsible for the deaths.
now post mortem examinations by Home Office scientists in the UK have failed to find a cause of death, the family’s solicitor said. Smith Jones solicitors added: ‘It is understood further toxicological screening and other tests will now be carried out as a matter of urgency.’
Inquests on the couple are expected to be opened and adjourned at Preston coroner’s court today.
