THE truth about the eccentric pathologist is finally revealed in this season one finale, and the dark streak that’s been hinted at is laid bare — but also made entirely understandable. Before that, though, Harrow (Ioan Gruffudd) has an extraordinary encounter in his lab. There will be a second season.

EPISODE one of a punchy comicbook adaptation from the U.S., about the work of a ramshackle British exorcist whose disrespectful manner conceals a haunted soul. He’s played with a light touch by The Halcyon’s Matt Ryan (pictured), and the world around him — especially the spirits — is brought to life with unsettling flair.
