LANCASHIRE
director of cricket Paul Allott, who gets in more than his fair share of scrapes, upset Somerset when he sat in the photographers’ room at Taunton behind ECB cricket liaison officer Dean Cosker. Somerset believe Allott was in Cosker’s ear complaining about the Taunton pitch for the tied Championship match, saying it was ‘below average, verging on poor’. Somerset escaped a points deduction but received a final warning after the pitch was reported by Cosker. A Lancashire spokesman said: ‘We fully accept the ECB decision and have moved on.’
