Children allowed to see F-word film by Labour councils
LEFT-WING councils are letting young children watch a documentary about poverty which was rated 15 because of its excessive swearing.
The film, A Northern Soul, has 19 uses of the F-word as it follows a warehouse worker from Hull who tries to inspire disadvantaged youngsters through hip hop music. The decision to give it a 15 certificate infuriated Baftanominated director Sean McAllister, who says the language can’t be cut as it is ‘embedded culturally’ in the way his main character speaks. McAllister, whose film is unashamedly Left-wing, said many urban youngsters heard worse language at school.
Councils can set their own film ratings and – after a campaign – Hull, Lambeth, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Southampton, Hackney, Bradford and Calderdale have downgraded A Northern Soul to a 12A.
