10. OUR SEARCH FOR A SURROGATE
HeRe I am with my friend’s beautiful baby daughter Skye, born in August. Cuddling her is a reminder of how much Sam and I want a family — but also of the challenges we face.
Six months after joining Surrogacy UK, we are nowhere near the top of the waiting list, and many surrogates and parents are matched at social events miles away from our home.
It’s why we decided to take matters into our own hands and make our own video appeal asking for a surrogate. We know it’s a lot to ask of a stranger and the thought that someone could be selfless enough to do this for us still takes my breath away.
But we hope that somewhere out there is the woman who will help us become the family we dream of.
