MP Kate Hoey is entirely unsympathetic towards BBC boss Tony Hall’s plea for more licence fee cash. ‘Stop paying ridiculous salaries to Gary Lineker and take a cut in your own pay too for a start,’ the former Sports Minister advises. ‘Licence fee already too high for those on low incomes.’ Lineker earns £1.75 million while Lord Hall’s salary is £450,000.
