Dem MP Layla Moran has been in the wars. I hear the 36-yearold needed ten stitches after receiving a blow just above her right eyebrow. It wasn’t, by all accounts, from a rival for the struggling party’s leadership — she is seen as a favourite to succeed the outgoing Sir Vince Cable — but sustained in a nightclub in her constituency, Oxford West and Abingdon.
She says: ‘I came into contact with the hand of a rather ove r - exuberant gentleman on the dance floor.’
