Teenage boys arrested over ‘far-Right terror plot’

-

A PAIR of teenage boys were arrested yesterday for allegedly preparing acts of far-Right terrorism.

The two, both 15, were arrested at their homes in Ramsgate, Kent Police said.

They are being questioned at a police station in the South East after being detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act. But last night the father of one of the boys said the arrests followed ‘stupid jokes about bombs’ online.

He added it was the second time in a month his son had been arrested. At the family’s terraced home, he said the schoolboy’s arrest was ‘a mistake’, adding ‘they start speaking online to be cool’.

Detective Superintendent Nigel Doak, of Counter Terrorism Policing South East, said: ‘The arrests were pre-planned and intelligence-led, and there was no immediate threat to the public.’
