Woman kills three in US gun rampage

- Mail Foreign Service

A FEMALE worker shot three colleagues dead in the US yesterday and injured at least five others before shooting herself.

Attacker Snochia Moseley, 26, died later in hospital.

The motive for her attack at Rite Aid pharmacy distribution centre in Perryman, near Baltimore, Maryland, is not known.

It is rare for mass shootings to be carried out by women, with men responsible for more than 95 per cent of attacks in America.

Moseley, a temporary employee, reported for work that morning, but shortly after 9am local time she began shooting outside the building before going inside.

By the time police arrived five minutes later, her rampage was over. Officers found her in a critical condition from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The killer, who was local, carried out the attack with a legally owned 9mm Glock handgun she brought to work, along with several magazines of ammunition.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said officers fired no shots. Three of the wounded were said last night to be in a serious condition, while two more were stable.

Krystal Watson, 33, said her husband, Eric, works at the facility and told her that the suspect had been arguing with somebody else, adding: ‘And she went off.

‘She didn’t have a particular target. She was just shooting. ‘She didn’t aim – she just shot.’ Mike Carre, who works at a neighbouring firm, locked his doors after a man came in with a gunshot wound to the leg.

He said the victim told him: ‘She just came in to pick a fight. She pulled out a gun and just started shooting at her co-workers.’
