Laughing 4x4 driver mows down emus

A DRIVER who filmed himself laughing hysterically as he mowed down at least a dozen emus in his 4x4 has been charged by police.

The Australian RSPCA launched a nationwide manhunt for the unnamed 20-year-old who counted the birds as he hit them.

‘Got that one too, and that one,’ he says before the video reveals his grinning face concealed by large sunglasses.

The vehicle was travelling at 75mph along a dirt road in Cowangie, Victoria, and the footage was shared thousands of times since being posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

He has been charged with three animal cruelty charges, destruction of protected wildlife, speeding and using his mobile phone while driving.

He will appear in court on November 9.
