White minority at 23 universities
MORE than half of students admitted to 23 UK universities are from ethnic minorities, figures published yesterday show.
Nearly three-quarters of the intake at Bradford and Aston universities are from minority backgrounds, according to The Sunday Times Good University Guide. The eight other universities in the top ten are all in London – including City, Middlesex and Brunel which all have 70 per cent ethnic minority students.
Harper Adams, an agriculture-based university in Shropshire, has just 0.8 per cent.
Oxford was deemed the least socially inclusive university, with only 40 per cent of students not from private or grammar schools.
