SSE pays £118m for wind farms

-

SSE is splashing out £118m to take control of wind farm being built off the coast of Scotland. The FTSE 100 energy group is buying out Fluor Ltd from their joint venture Seagreen Wind Energy. SSE recently warned on profits after the dry summer dented production at its existing turbines. SEE has stakes in two running offshore wind farms – Walney, off Cumbria, and Greater Gabbard, off Suffolk. The RSPB has strongly opposed the Seagreen projects saying they are concerned about birds being killed.
