Jack Bowles, 54 Chief executive, British American Tobacco

company and eight years at the helm. Bowles will become chief executive designate on November 1 and will join the board on January 1. He joined BAT in 2004 as head of its France division before becoming managing director of the group’s listed subsidiary in Malaysia.
