Sherlock star sings praises of parenthood

-

SHERLOCK star Benedict Cumberbatch, who has two young sons with his theatre director wife, Sophie Hunter, says fatherhood has changed his relationship with his parents.

‘For years, I assumed my parents to be one thing, but when you have children yourself your perception of them changes, as does the things they have done over the years,’ says the 42-yearold star, whose parents, the actors Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham, once appeared in Sherlock.

‘You interpret events and actions differently and take a much deeper understanding of what it is they did for you and went through for you. It’s a lovely thing.’
