Follow-up
DuRInG the Eighties, my husband was a sales rep and one of his customers produced fragrances for perfume houses. On one of his visits, he was given a number of sample phials of perfume to take home to try. The labels naming each phial had been somewhat shakily hand-written. I particularly liked one of the perfumes and went everywhere trying to find it without success (although I did receive some funny looks from the sales people). Eventually, a savvy salesperson realised I had been looking for ‘climat’ (French for ‘climate’). I had misread the label and had been asking for ‘climax’! Mrs Barbara higgs, Marlow Bottom, Bucks.
