Gosden’s doubt over Cracksman

TRAINER John Gosden has conceded the ground is against Cracksman ahead of the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp a week tomorrow. It now seems Cracksman’s most likely target is the Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 20, rather than joining stablemate Enable in the Arc. Gosden, who won the Group Three Princess Royal Nayef Stakes at Newmarket yesterday with Highgarden, said: ‘I have someone walking the course but the Ryder Cup (near Paris) looks sunny, dry and breezy and that looks like it’s going to continue.’
