Watchdog for new homes
A WATCHDOG is to be set up to end the scandal of shoddy new newbuild homes.
Housing Secretary James Brokenshire said the new ombudsman would monitor the standard of housing developments.
He told the Tory conference that quality needed to be addressed. Announcing the New Homes Ombudsman, he said: ‘This watchdog will champion home buyers, hold developers to account and give confidence that when you get the keys to a new home you get the quality build you expect.’
