Grant revives Withnail’s old cloak and swagger
RICHARD E GRANT re-enacts an iconic scene from the classic Withnail & I — the film that catapulted him to cult stardom 31 years ago. The actor sported a Harris tweed coat similar to the one in the movie and pretended to swig from a bottle of wine.
Writing online, he said he was helping his daughter Olivia to pack when she ‘found this olde coat’ and urged him to see if it still fitted. Unlike Withnail, however, Grant, 61, is allergic to alcohol and never touches the stuff.
