Indian tycoon leaving M&S
THE Indian businessman who brought Archie Norman to Marks & Spencer is standing down as a director.
Vindi Banga, 63, joined the board of the High Street stalwart in September 2011 and became senior independent director in March 2015. He oversaw the hiring of Norman as chairman and was instrumental in the appointment of Steve Rowe as chief executive in 2016.
Banga worked for Unilever for 33 years and is also a non executive director at Glaxosmithkline.
