Yorkshire leads house price boom

HOUSE prices are rising faster in Yorkshire than anywhere else in Britain for the first time since 2005.

Meanwhile, home values are falling in London and parts of the South East.

The average home in Yorkshire and the Humber now costs £160,263, according to Nationwide – up 5.8 per cent on 2017. The North West, East and West Midlands also managed growth above per cent.

At the other end of the scale, prices in the North East fell 1.7 per cent to £125,085, while central London values suffered a fall of 0.7 per cent to £ 68,5 .
