Driven mad by rules

-

I CAN understand why the Asda delivery driver refused to take £200 worth of shopping up a flight of stairs for a young pregnant mother.

Unfortunately, long gone are the days when it would have been done without a thought.

But where would Asda be if he had fallen, causing serious injury, or strained his back, needing weeks off work? No doubt they would cite health and safety rules that an employee has a duty of care to themselves, so he might have to take the blame if injured.

So before any jobsworth tries to reprimand that driver, perhaps they can get on the road for a few weeks and show them how to do it.
