Profits up 19pc at McDonald’s
PROFITS at the UK arm of fast food chain McDonald’s climbed 19pc to £341m last year.
It cut staff numbers by more than 3,000 to 35,878, as franchisees took on more restaurants, meaning their staff switched from the McDonald’s payroll. Total turnover stood at £1.6bn, which was up £19m from 2016.
Around £1.1bn came from restaurants directly owned by the firm.
The highest-paid director – believed to be Paul Pomroy, 45 – was paid £783,000.
