Del Boy would feel the pinch today
AN Only Fools and Horses star claimed Del Boy would be branded a ‘pervert’ had the show aired today.
Sue Holderness, 69, who played Boycie’s flirtatious wife Marlene in the 1980s show, said it was ‘quite fun’ when Sir David Jason’s character Del Boy pinched her bottom in the show.
She said she ‘feels sorry’ for men because if the show was filmed today Del Boy wouldn’t get away with it.
‘The very first episode, Del gave me a big hug, kissed me fondly and pinched my a*** and nobody took any offence, except Boycie who looked daggers,’ she said. ‘Every time we met that would happen. It’s quite fun.’
Miss Holderness, who reunites with Sir David in the new series of BBC One sitcom Still Open All Hours, said: ‘I don’t think you would get away with Del Boy pinching Marlene’s bottom without everybody saying, “He’s a pervert and that shouldn’t be allowed and he should be locked up”.’
