Trade benefits
WITH Italy displaying all the signs of the fiscal weakness that have led to greece’s economic troubles, high unemployment and uncertainty, does it not highlight the EU’s need for the benefits of trade with the UK?
as such, we are in a strong position for EU negotiations. Let’s not waste it.
GERRY DOYLE, liverpool. WHAT brilliant suggestions from former dover docks worker Mick Tedder (Letters). someone with 40 years of practical experience (rather than another Remoaner ‘ expert’), who proves so succinctly that the movement of goods between the EU and the UK after Brexit could be simple.
The systems Mick details are already in place, so it would seem to be perfectly possible to adopt these for future EU/UK trade.
It is only the intransigence of the EU negotiating team — and the weakness of our own government — that stands in its way. DES BROOM, sherborne, Dorset.
