Now it’s Made in Spain
ONlINE furniture retailer Made is expanding into spain to grab a slice of the country’s £6bn furniture and homeware market.
The British firm, which sells products such as velvet sofas and brass anglepoise lamps, is hoping to attract spanish millennials as an economic recovery encourages consumers to spend more on their home. It means Made is now in eight European countries.
It pulled in a 40pc jump in sales to £127m last year, with more than 40pc from its international business.
Philippe Chainieux, chief executive of Made, said: ‘The total market for furniture and homewares in Europe is worth in the region of £120bn, so there’s lots to play for.’
