Gaunt McCririck blames Channel 4 sacking for dramatic weight loss
CONCERNS for the health of veteran racing pundit John McCririck were voiced yesterday after he appeared on TV looking gaunt in a hat and suit that swamped him.
The usually larger- than- life 78-year-old appeared frail and dramatically slimmer on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side on Thursday.
After fans expressed concern on social media, a spokesman said McCririck had suffered a ‘serious chest infection [and] is recovering’. But last night, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant said his weight loss was down to being dropped by Channel 4 in 2012. He added: ‘I was sacked by Channel 4, I was depressed, I lost my appetite … I had no motivation, no purpose in life.’
