CUT ROUGH GRASS

IF YOU have an area of rough grass — perhaps under trees — it may benefit from a few late cuts. Late mowing can prevent tussocks and ensure good green cover for winter.

And mowing beforehand will make it easier If you want to naturalise bulbs in rough grass. If the bulbs are small — snowdrops or crocuses, for example — mowing is essential if you don’t want to lose any corms.
