QUESTION I’d like to create a playlist with songs about artists. Vincent by Don McLean is an obvious example. Any other suggestions?

FURTHER to earlier answers, perhaps the funniest artist lyric is in Ian Dury’s There Ain’t Half been Some Clever b*****ds:

‘Van Gogh did some eyeball pleasers. He must have been a pencil squeezer.

‘He didn’t do the Mona lisa, That was an Italian geezer.’
