Robots ‘to turn every school into an Eton’

-

ROBOTS in classrooms will give an ‘Eton education for all’ within 15 years, a leading expert has predicted.

Sir Anthony Seldon said that in the future each pupil will be given a tablet that knows them better than their parents to give them tailored one-on-one teaching, freeing up more time for building up social skills.

He added that teachers will no longer feel burnt out by marking and students will be able to progress at their own pace, as the system develops from the ‘factory model’.

Sir Anthony, vice-chancellor of Buckingham University, also criticised the Government for not utilising artificial intelligence in education.

Speaking at Henley Literary Festival to promote his book, The Fourth Education Revolution, he said: ‘We’re in the dawn of this new era. It is the most important revolution in education for 500 years and the Government doesn’t get it or understand what is happening.’
