Anthea gives the thumbs-up... after shelling out £475 for injections on ‘wrinkly’ fingers

- By Alec Fullerton

DESPITE battling with crow’s feet and grey hairs, many women feel their hands are the biggest giveaway of their age.

Such was Anthea Turner’s dislike for her hands, the TV presenter chose to undergo a revolutionary cosmetic procedure, taking years off their appearance. The former Blue Peter and GMTV star, 58, had the £475 Ellansé treatment which uses filler injections to smooth out wrinkles.

It is said to create a natural look by stimulating the body to produce more collagen. Miss Turner, who had the treatment at the River Aesthetics clinic in Belgravia, London, also underwent a £2,500 ‘one stitch facelift’ – an alternative to the traditional nip and tuck operation.

She told the Daily Mail: ‘ My hands were definitely my biggest giveaway! I’ve actually become a tiny bit self-conscious of them in recent years.

‘I’m delighted. I think they look much younger. These treatments are really clever at subtly bringing back a bit of youth in difficult areas’. Miss Turner’s facelift uses threads of small cones inserted under the skin. It is designed to tighten the face by lifting saggy jowls and cure ‘turkey neck’.

The micro- cones are absorbed into the body over time and trigger more natural collagen production.

Local anaesthetic makes it far less daunting than going under the knife.

Miss Turner, who has had Botox and a breast enlargement in the past, said: ‘ I truly think that nonsurgical procedures are so good now that we just don’t need the knife so much any more.’

Despite the work, she insisted: ‘I don’t fear ageing. I’m definitely trying to join the long list of incredible women who give it a bloody good run for its money!’
