Top Gun Tom’s back... at full throttle!
HE may be less of a maverick than the cocky 24-year-old who hit the box office heights with a tale of jet fighter derring-do in 1986.
But Tom Cruise proves he can still hit the highway to the danger zone as he films the sequel to Top Gun in San Diego, California.
Sitting astride his motorbike, the 56-year-old’s trademark Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses, bomber jacket and tight jeans were all present and correct as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell. Co-stars Kelly McGillis, who played flight instructor Charlotte Blackwood, and Val Kilmer as rival pilot Iceman also return in the sequel, coming next June.
