Ecclestone heiress loses £ 4.3m with fashion line
Heiress Pet r a ecclestone has endured a tumultuous year. she secured a divorce from bullion trader James stunt in October 2017, after the judge ruled that she could not reasonably be expected to live with him. And, although now settled in Los Angeles, thousands of miles from her ex, who remains based in Central London’s Belgravia, Petra, 29, has not been able to escape the past.
This month saw the publication of the latest set of accounts for stark & Co, the designer company she established in 2011, just one month after she and stunt married in a £12 million ceremony in rome. Filed at Companies House, the accounts disclose losses of £4,280,201.
The inspiration for her fashion label’s name came after her father Bernie, the billionaire exFormula
One supremo, said her idea was ‘stark raving mad’. Petra defiantly went ahead and called it stark.
At the time, she said: ‘It’s not about me — it’s not a Petra Ecclestone handbag. It’s a stark handbag. There’s a huge difference.’ The deluxe handbags and purses, made from python and alligator skin, were priced between £400 and £3,000.
In 2008, Petra had launched a men’s clothing firm, Form, which went bust after only 14 months.
Earlier this year, she toyed with the idea of voluntarily dissolving stark, submitting an application to do so just one week after the last details of her divorce were finalised — only to think better of it.
Awarded sole custody of the three children she had with 36-year- old stunt —Lavinia, five, and threeyear-old twins James and Andrew — Petra is evidently intent on rebuilding her life in Los Angeles, where she is dating Essex man sam Palmer.
Last night, Petra declined to comment on her losses.
