THE APPRENTICE

-

I no longer watch The Apprentice For the candidates get on my nerves; They come up with stupid suggestions Rather less than each project deserves. They think they are high-flying hotshots With the knowledge and talents to match, But then they are often found wanting When solutions are not up to scratch. Convinced they are all superheroes They begin to believe their own hype, Yet seek no guidance from colleagues Who do nothing but sit there and gripe. The weakness of most of these hopefuls Is that they run before they can walk, For they think they know all the answers So refuse to just listen, but talk. Thus when they arrive in the boardroom It’s no longer all sweetness and light, They gang up against one another And although it’s just verbal, they fight. I don’t really know why this irks me Because these are not folk I admire; Perhaps it is down to Lord Sugar Who can hire but will never inspire.
