GALILEO’S £3.6M COLT

A son of Galileo went for £3.57million yesterday at Tattersall­s, becoming the most expensive yearling sold at auction this year. The colt, bought by MV Magnier on behalf of Coolmore stud, was one of five seven-figure lots sold on the opening day of the prestigiou­s Book one three-day sale. All eyes today will be on lot 325 — who is the full brother to unbeaten Too Darn Hot, favourite for saturday’s Dewhurst stakes. Bred by Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, the Dubawi yearling, whose dam is three-time Group one winner Dar Re Mi, is also the brother of st Leger runner-up Lah Ti Dar.
