It’s disco diva Taylor, the mirror ball belle
SHINING in a metallic minidress and matching boots, she looks more mirror ball than music maven.
But if Taylor Swift just wanted her outfit to add a bit of disco sparkle to the red carpet, she certainly succeeded.
The 28-year-old really lit up the 2018 American Music Awards in LA on Tuesday in a look that she described as ‘human disco ball’.
The singer, who rubbed shoulders at the ceremony with Rita Ora and Jennifer Lopez, also broke Whitney Houston’s record as the event’s most decorated female artist. She now holds 23 trophies – including four she was handed on the night.
She also took the chance to make a political point during her acceptance speech for artist of the year, urging Americans to ‘get out and vote’ in the forthcoming midterm elections. Miss Swift – dating British actor Joe Alwyn – has in the past been criticised for not engaging in major political moments like the 2016 presidential election.
