AUDREY HEPBURN’S FAVOURITE
THe first time I opened this lipstick, I got goosebumps.
I thought it would be empty, but inside is a half-used pink lipstick, still with the imprint of audrey’s lips.
Given to the actress by Cartier in 1954, it’s a beautiful, gold cylinder engraved with her initials, with a magnificent sugarloaf sapphire on the clasp.
I am convinced it’s the shade she wore for her iconic 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I bought it at Christie’s in london last year and there was a frenzied bidding war.
I know paying more than £50,000 for it is a huge sum, but I have always been fascinated by her. It really is the jewel in my collection. PAID: More than £50,000
